Rockchip Flashing Tools
Rockchip provides several tools for flashing an operating system onto onboard storage media like eMMC, NAND, or SPI flash.
In this paragraph we briefly present the main utilities that can be used to flash these devices using an host PC with Linux or Windows OS. We recommend the user to have a look at the Rockchip documentation for further details on these tools and their correct usage:
-
Upgrade_tool is an official Rockchip utility for Linux to update firmware on devices running Rockchip chipsets.
-
rkdeveloptool is a tool from Rockchip to communicate with Rockchip devices, considered to be a open source version of upgrade_tool with very little difference.
-
RKDevTool is an USB flashing software developed by Rockchip for Windows platforms.
These tools usually require a processor-specific loader file, the downloadable references for which can be found on the pages relating to boards with Rockchip processors in this documentation. The tools then allows to flash a complete .wic
format Clea OS image to the device and get the user started with using it.
